ORLANDO, Fla. (November 7, 2007) – New books, lab equipment, computer software and more is on the way to local classrooms, thanks to $219,679 ($40,000 more than the previous year) granted to teachers for learning enhancement endeavors. The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Inc., which manages a host of grant programs for teachers in the district, has distributed the funds to 314 teachers to provide for everything from supplies and equipment for classroom learning enhancement to collaborative teacher classroom initiatives to specific equipment and materials focused on math and science enrichment. |

ORLANDO, Fla. (September 10, 2007) – The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year … and the celebration just got better. The Foundation has secured a record $288,000 ($108,000 more than last year) for teachers to use this year for classroom enrichment projects. Thanks to these funds -- generated from major corporations, programs and matching grants -- new books, lab equipment, computer software and innovative teacher/classroom projects will be making their way into local Orange County classrooms this school year. |
