Applications will be available in June 2012.
The Read2Succeed Literacy Grant was
established in the fall of 2008 to provide manipulatives and consumable
materials to elementary teachers, enhancing the learning experiences for their
students. The University of Phoenix
Central Florida Campus has sponsored this grant
category for the past two years.
Classroom teachers in grades
Kindergarten - 5 are eligible to apply for up to $250 grants for literacy
materials such as books, workbooks and flashcards. Community and education leaders judge grant
applications in a competitive process, with preference given to creative
proposals that involve the greatest number of under-performing students.
Since 1996, grants
totaling over $1.95 million have been awarded to Orange County
Public School teachers to
enrich the instructional programs for our students by encouraging innovation
and creative projects.
