UCF/ESOL Program Overview

The UCF/ESOL component of Read2Succeed matches UCF student volunteers with elementary school students in participating Orange County elementary schools. Volunteers spend approximately 45 minutes (same day, same time, and same student) working with students who need reading and mentoring support. The goal is to enrich the student’s literacy skills and provide care for their personal development and growth.

The UCF student volunteers work with ESOL students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. They apply what they learn in class during their weekly sessions with their assigned student.

To become a registered volunteer, UCF students must complete an ADDitions application and have a background check before they can be matched with elementary schools students.
