Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament

BREAKING NEWS:  SGM Engineering will serve as the 2017 title sponsor for the 18th Annual Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament.

2016 Highlights

2017 Tournament

In its 18th year, the “Fore Our Schools” Golf Tournament provides an opportunity for the community to partner with the Foundation and fund programs to support students and teachers of Orange County Public Schools.  Since the first tournament in 1999, it has netted over $2.1 million.

While public funding for education provides the basics, these additional dollars help ensure that each child in our schools also has access to the extra resources, teachers, and learning experiences needed to realize that child’s full potential – whether a student if gifted, disabled, homeless, or simply has classmates who are. Through our tournament sponsors' support, they help provide the high-quality education we want for all children.

The 2017 SGM Engineering 18th annual Fore Our School Golf Tournament is set for Friday, Sept. 22, at the Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort! Last year, with our sponsors' support, the tournament raised more than $176,000. This year, in honor of the Foundation’s 30th anniversary, we’re aiming to raise $250,000 for our OCPS students and teachers!

The tournament uses two award-winning Jack Nicklaus - designed courses at Grand Cypress.  Contests include hole-in-one, longest drive, closest to the pin and putting … along with a premier raffle/silent auction and giveaways.  This tournament provides a great opportunity to meet and network with School Board members, district leadership and other community businessmen/women while investing in the education of our future leaders.  All players receive a round of golf, breakfast, lunch, swag bag, a day of fun and more!

2016 Tournament Raises Nearly $180,000

The 17th Annual Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament tee'd off at the Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort.

Over 250 golfers, 20 Foundation / OCPS leadership team members and an army of 50+ volunteers were at the tournament on September 23 playing to support public education in Orange County.  It was a great day of golf, networking and fun.

Orange Technical College's hospitality students volunteered at this years event to gain hands-on experience in the industry that they intend to start a career. They were able to apply the sports marketing and sporting event promotion/coordination concepts to a real-world experience. This is the beauty of CTE ..the learning goes beyond the classroom walls to real-world application.

Over the 17 year history of the golf tournament, the Foundation has raised more than $2M.
