Maitland MS Music Fund

The Maitland Middle School music department is known for performance standards seldom achieved at the middle school level. The music department has traveled to Atlanta, Tampa, and New York City, performing world premieres and standards of the choral, orchestra, and band repertoire. Many of our music students are representatives of the OCPS All-County, and FMEA All-State honor ensembles.  Our music students have performed at Universal Studios Music in the Parks Festival, VanderCook College of Music, Festivals of Music in Chicago, Atlanta Aquarium, ASBDA Summer Band Convention, FMEA Convention and have been featured on WKMG Channel 6-CBS.

The purpose of the Maitland Middle School Music Fund is to supplement the funds available to the Maitland Middle School music department through general donations and/or special fundraisers. The fund maintains a segregated account at The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools and the funds will be used solely for the benefit of Maitland Middle School music department. Donations can be made check or credit card and will be tax deductible to the extent of the law as a contribution to a 501c3 organization with transparency and full disclosure.

KRAJEVISM field trip to the National A Cappella Convention 2016 Fundraiser

KRAJEVISM is the select female a cappella ensemble from Maitland Middle School. Created in 2014 and named by combining the first initials of our founding members, KRAJEVISM is currently comprised of 18 girls in grades 7 and 8. In its first year, KRAJEVISM was the first and only middle school a cappella group in the state of Florida. We have been fortunate to work with a cappella professionals like the group Delilah and a cappella godfather, Deke Sharon (producer of the Pitch Perfect movies and the Sing-Off television series). KRAJEVISM has been invited to attend the 2nd annual National Convention in Memphis, TN in April 2016, where these girls will be workshopping with the biggest and best professionals in contemporary a cappella. KRAJEVISM has also submitted a video application in hopes of being selected as one of only six ensembles to perform while in Memphis.
