Overview

The Middle School Book Club Grants, funded by License4Learning - Florida Specialty Education License Plate program and the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program, will be awarded to fund book clubs for reluctant and/or interested readers. The goal of Middle School Book Club is to strengthen literacy skills of students in grades 6-8 and encourage reading for enjoyment. The funds are available for fiction, non-fiction and or graphic novels.  Traditional books must be used.
 
Only one bookclub per school will be considered to allow all middle schools to participate.
 
Grant Amount Available:
  • Up to $500 per book club. Please note there are NO stipends associated with this grant.
Preference will be given to proposals that target reluctant readers however all interested students are elgibile to participate. Please provide a concise, comprehensive book club budget. All OCPS ordering procedures MUST be followed.  Before submitting your application check with your school bookkeeper for pricing, approved vendors and ordering procedures. This is an OCPS district mandate.
