Orange County’s Top Talent is a county-wide talent show with acts featuring singing, dancing, comedy, instrumentals, drama, and novelty performances. Orange County Public School's 184,000 students and 13,000 teachers and staff are eligible to participate, along with Central Florida community and business leaders who are connected to schools through Partners in Education or other engagement initiatives. Last year, 94 acts auditioned, and judges selected 18 finalists. More than 800 people watched the talent show at Hard Rock Live featuring students as young as 2nd grade and as old as 12th grade along with a high school teacher.The 2014 finalists will be selected through a live audition event at Edgewater High School March 2013, and finalists will perform May 10, 2013 at the Linda Chapin Theatre in the Orange County Convention Center. Each winner will designate a school to receive a cash prize on his/her behalf. A traveling trophy will go to the school represented by the 1st place winner.Sixty-percent of the event’s net proceeds support the Foundation's initiatives focusing on literacy, quality teaching, learning support and community and family engagement.
