Educators

The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools has been working for more than 20 years to support innovative teachers through classroom grants and other programs.

Teacher Grants – Nearly $175,000 is awarded annually to teachers for innovative projects, equipment and supplies in key areas such as math, science, energy education, classroom libraries, civics and fine arts.  During the 2014-15 school year, 275 teachers received grants that impacted more than 30,000 students in 90 schools.

Read2Succeed – This program matches volunteers with 1st and 2nd graders who are struggling readers. Read2Succeed volunteers help build literacy skills while building students’ self-esteem and self-confidence. Over 850 students in 45 schools were assisted during the 2013-2014 school year.

Teach-In – Each year on a single day in November, thousands of adults go back into the classrooms to share their knowledge and experience with students in every grade. In 2013, more than 4,500 volunteers where in 175 schools and made approximately 8,800 presentations sharing their knowledge and experiences.

Business Cards – The Foundation partners with C&S Printing to bring OCPS teachers and administrators affordable business cards. Business cards may be ordered at the beginning of each school year.
