Edgewater High MCJROTC Fund

The Marine Corps JROTC program was established at Edgewater High School in 1980 as an elective course that uses a United States Marine Corps framework for developing student’s self-discipline, leadership and confidence.  The values of the Corps of Cadets, reflect those of the Marine Corps and all who have earned the title “Marine.”  Hard work, commitment to improvement, and respect are expected of all Cadets.

Marine Corps JROTC instills the values of; Citizenship, Personal Growth and Responsibility; Public Service and Career Exploration. These basic areas are developed through classroom instruction, physical fitness training, close order drill, marksmanship, and demonstration of leadership principles.  It prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles, while making them aware of their rights, responsibility and privileges as American citizens.

Parents, principals, teachers and school administrators know and have seen the value of the MC JROTC program and understand that it:

“Motivates students to learn”
“Fosters a disciplined and constructive learning environment”
“Instills essential skills like time organization, responsibility, goal setting, and teamwork”

With your help, we will continue to accomplish the mission by providing our Cadets with extracurricular activities to build character, leadership, team building and communication skills; enabling our Cadets to achieve success long into adulthood.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Edgewater High School
