Dr. Kathleen “Kat” Gordon has never minced words when it comes to her students. Since her first teaching position and throughout her 51-year career, she has believed in their potential, promoted their interests, and celebrated their successes with energy and vigor. Dr. Gordon ensured that they were never left behind or overlooked, placing them, their schools and their teachers front and center so that each child received a high-quality, free public education. Not only has she set a standard for other School Board members to emulate – God broke the mold when He fashioned her heart and spirit for education.

On November 10, Dr. Gordon will attend her final meeting as an OCPS School Board member. In honor of her extraordinary legacy, please consider contributing a small gift to the new District 5 Student Activities Fund, which will help cover the cost of uniforms, supplies, equipment and other needs for District 5 students who want to participate in sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities but need assistance to do so.
