Jones High School Marching Band

Marching Tigers Band

Please Help!

In 1950 the Orange County School Board hired James W. Wilson to teach history at Jones High School, Orlando's African American High School.  Wilson had been a member of the Marching 100 band during his college years at the Florida Agricultureal & Mechanical University (FAMU), and between history classes at Jones, he applied his skill and experience to organizing a band.
Nearly 75 years later, that legacy continues in the lives of the students, alumni and community that are recipients of the musical genius and exemplary foundation set by "Chief" James W. Wilson.
Jones High School Marching Tigers Band has appeared on local and national television networks and performed throughout the nation, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Carnegie Hall and the FAMU vs Bethune Cookman Battle of the Bands to name a few.
The band in is need of new uniforms.  The design (shown on the right) is a commemortive uniform.
