The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools has been working for more than 20 years to support innovative teachers through classroom grants and other programs.
Teacher Grants – Over $185,000 is awarded annually to teachers for innovative projects, equipment and supplies in key areas such as math, science, energy education, classroom libraries, civics and fine arts.  During the 2017-18 school year, 232 teachers received grants that impacted more than 21,000 students in 129 schools.
Read2Succeed – A long-standing district approved enrichment program that matches volunteers with first, second, and third graders who are struggling readers. Read2Succeed volunteers help build literacy skills while building students’ self-esteem and self-confidence. Over 1,200 students in 78 OCPS elementary schools participated in the 2016-17 school year.
Teach-In – Each year on a single day in November, thousands of adults go back into the classrooms to share their knowledge and experience with students in every grade. In 2016, approximately 4,500 volunteers were in 165 schools and gave more than 6,800 hours of their time to share their knowledge and experiences.
