The purpose of the Dolphin Education Fund (DEF) is to supplement the funds available to Lake Whitney Elementary School, and will be used solely to offset the cost of a Registered Nurse and a Computer Education Teacher.
The DEF is overseen by a Board of Directors composed of parents, teachers, and community members, working together with the Principal and staff at Lake Whitney Elementary School. Donations to the Dolphin Education Fund can be made at any time to Lake Whitney Elementary School, and will be tax deductible. The Fund can receive cash, check or credit card, in one payment or multiple installments throughout the school year. The DEF will maintain a segregated account at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, available only for Lake Whitney Elementary School; it is tax deductible to the full extent of the law as a contribution to a 501(c)3 organization with transparency and full disclosure.
Numerous families, staff members and business partners have pledged to make a difference through the Dolphin Education Fund. To-date, donations have raised over $85,000.
Together, we have set a goal of $100,000. If all of our pledges are collected and our combined efforts are realized, teachers and staff can continue to educate students with extraordinary learning programs, tools and resources.
