University HS Choral Department

University High’s Choral Department students are a colorful array of races and ethnic backgrounds. They speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, Vietnamese, Chinese, and more.  They are talented and passionate individuals, involved in National Honor Society, Student Government, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, International Baccalaureate, Global Technologies, sports, and clubs.  Their singing is inspirational!  Our choirs have been chosen by audition into State and Southern Region American Choral Directors Association, Florida Music Educators Association Conference, Disney’s Candlelight Processional, and more.  They also serve the community and are especially fond of sharing their time and talents with the children and families at Give Kids the World.

EVENT: National ACDA Performance
The Concert Choir at University High School, has been selected to perform at the National American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in Kansas City, MO. The conference will be held at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, February 27th through March 2nd, 2019. This will be the first time, in University High’s 28 years of existence, to have a choir represent our school and community at the national level. Travel expenses, for the 66% free and reduce meal program of our school’s population, are a challenge to our families. University High School’s choral students need your assistance to make this prestigious performance a reality in their lives.
