University High Choral Department

University High’s Choral Department students are a colorful array of races and ethnic backgrounds. They speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, Vietnamese, Chinese, and more. They are talented and passionate individuals, involved in National Honor Society, Student Government, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, International Baccalaureate, sports and clubs.

Their singing is inspirational! Our choirs have been chosen by audition into State, Southern Region, and National Conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, Florida Music Educators Association Conference, and Disney’s Candlelight Processional. They also serve the community and are especially fond of sharing their time and talents with the children and families at Give Kids the World and the elderly populations in nearby nursing homes.

2021-22 Performance Events
This year, two of our choirs, Men’s Chorale and Cantoras, have been selected to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) and the Southern Region American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). The FMEA Conference will be held in Tampa, FL in January 2022 and ACDA in February 2022.
Travel expenses, for the 66% of students in the free and/or reduced meal program of our school’s population, are a challenge to our families.
Please consider sponsoring an individual student or the entire choir. Help us fill the world with hope through song!
