Hungerford Elementary Fund

The Advanced Curriculum Academy fund is to support the students, faculty and staff at Hungerford ES. We believe that all students deserve a rich educational experience and the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, academically and socially.  We believe all students deserve a relevant, challenging curriculum which incorporates various instructional methods and accommodates different learning styles.  The fund will be used to offset the cost of classroom expenses to enhance our magnet program, incentives for students who are achieving academic excellence, improvement, and good citizenship, support activities to promote community engagement, and provide training for our faculty and staff.

We believe all students deserve knowledgeable, supportive, motivated staff members who are committed to providing a safe, secure, and orderly environment in an atmosphere of dignity and pride that enables all students to achieve and grow to reach their potential.

All students will have high expectations of themselves and innately understand the importance of academic achievement.  All students will learn the skills and knowledge needed to face their future endeavors.  All students will exhibit respect for all in a safe and caring environment.

The focus of Hungerford Elementary School is to provide a positive, enriching and safe environment that enables students to succeed, to become lifelong learners and to be responsible members of our community.

Contributions to the Fund can be made at any time to Hungerford Elementary School, and will be tax deductible.  The Fund can receive gifts via cash, check (payable to FOCPS) or credit card, in one payment or multiple installments throughout the school year.

The Hungerford Elementary School  Fund will maintain a separate account at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools available only to Hungerford Elementary School; it will be tax deductible as a contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization with transparency and full disclosure.

Community members and Hungerford Elementary staff have been working together to build and establish a community garden on Hungerford’s campus. Hungerford Elementary School is located in the historic town of Eatonville and serves over 250 students that all live within walking distance from this true community school.  In 2018 the newly renovated Hungerford Elementary was dedicated.  In the planning stage a space for a community garden was set aside but the dollars were tight and the garden was not built.

Your financial support will allow students to have access to healthy food they can grow and study as part of their curriculum. Design plans are complete and a team of experienced volunteers are in place to build the garden.  The Hungerford students are ready to get their hands dirty and a team of teachers and volunteers are ready to start seeding and maintaining their new garden.

Please help us raise $5,000.00 to build the garden, buy quality soil and purchase plants and seeds to get things growing.
